Observation data
Observation feeds provide location and time data that can be normalized into Shark Alert’s own report format.
Structured observation records are normalized, checked for duplicates, and matched to Shark Alert locations during shadow testing.
Official notices
These sources can surface beach notices, advisories, closures, and sightings for review. They are discovery inputs—not automatic customer alerts.

Connected means Shark Alert successfully retrieved the source. Connection issue means it is registered but has not completed a successful check. Every discovered report still has to pass normalization, location, timing, duplicate, and review gates before it can become an alert.
